Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 2, 2026  ·  Last updated: June 2, 2026

Plain-language summary: ErrandRadar is a location-based reminder app. We store your to-do items and location pins in your Firebase account (hosted by Google). Your GPS position is compared against your pins on your device, not on our servers. If you use category reminders (e.g., "any grocery store"), your approximate location is sent to OpenStreetMap's Overpass API to find nearby places. We do not sell your data. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

1. Information We Collect

A. This Website (errandradar.com)

The ErrandRadar marketing website does not use analytics trackers or set persistent cookies.

  • Waitlist email: When you submit the waitlist form, your email address is sent to Kit (ConvertKit, Inc.) and stored in our Kit account. Kit sends you a confirmation email to verify your address. We use this list solely to notify you when ErrandRadar launches and to send occasional product updates. We do not sell or share your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send. Kit's privacy policy is available at kit.com/privacy-policy.
  • Third-party resource requests: This page loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) and icons from the unpkg CDN (unpkg.com). These requests are standard HTTP calls; those services receive your IP address and browser headers. We do not control what those third parties do with that data. Consult their respective privacy policies.

B. The ErrandRadar Mobile App

When you use the ErrandRadar app, we collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name, email address, and profile photo URL from Google's authentication service. If you use the app as a guest (anonymous mode), we create a random, non-identifying anonymous user ID with no name or email collected.
  • To-do content: The titles, notes, and completion status of your to-do items as you enter them.
  • Pinned location data: The coordinates, address, place name, alert radius, and color label you attach to each to-do item. This data is stored in your Firestore account.
  • Real-time GPS position (on-device only): The app reads your device's GPS to check whether you are near any of your pinned locations. This comparison happens entirely on your device. Your live GPS coordinates are not transmitted to ErrandRadar's servers.
  • Approximate location (category reminders): When you attach a category reminder, such as "any pharmacy" or "any gas station"; the app sends your approximate current coordinates to the OpenStreetMap Overpass API to find nearby matching places. These queries are not linked to your account or identity. See Section 3 for detail.
  • Purchase and subscription data: If you subscribe to ErrandRadar Pro, our payment processor RevenueCat handles the transaction with the App Store or Google Play. We receive only your subscription status (active, expired, etc.); we never see or store your payment card number or financial account details.
  • Device and diagnostic information: Firebase may automatically collect standard technical data such as device model, operating system version, app version, and crash logs. We use this solely to maintain and improve the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only to provide and improve ErrandRadar:

  • Sync your to-do items across your devices via Firebase.
  • Trigger location-based notifications when you approach a pinned place.
  • Resolve nearby matching places for category-type reminders via the Overpass API.
  • Manage your subscription status and enforce free-tier limits.
  • Diagnose crashes and fix bugs using device and diagnostic data.
  • Notify you when ErrandRadar launches if you joined the waitlist.

We do not use your information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating ErrandRadar. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

3. Third-Party Services

ErrandRadar relies on the following third-party services that may receive some of your data as part of delivering the service:

Google Firebase (Authentication & Cloud Firestore)

Your account and to-do data are stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). Google acts as a data processor on our behalf. Data is stored in Google Cloud infrastructure and subject to Google's security and compliance standards.

RevenueCat

In-app purchases and subscription management are handled by RevenueCat, Inc. RevenueCat receives your app store purchase receipt and subscription status. Payment card information is handled entirely by Apple or Google and is never transmitted to or stored by RevenueCat or ErrandRadar.

OpenStreetMap / Overpass API

Category-based reminders (e.g., "any grocery store") work by querying the OpenStreetMap Overpass API with your approximate GPS coordinates to return a list of nearby matching locations. This is the only scenario in which your location is transmitted to an external server. These queries are ephemeral, not linked to your identity or account, and not stored by ErrandRadar. The Overpass API is operated by volunteers and the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Consult their privacy policy for server-side log retention practices.

Google Fonts & unpkg CDN (Website only)

The ErrandRadar website loads fonts from Google Fonts and icon assets from the unpkg CDN. These services receive your IP address and standard browser request headers. No personal account data is shared with these services in connection with website visits.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and to-do data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your associated data from Firestore within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law or to resolve an open dispute.

If you used the app as an anonymous guest and never linked a Google account, your data is associated with a randomly generated Firebase anonymous user ID. If you uninstall the app or lose access to your device, that anonymous session cannot be recovered and we have no means to identify it. Anonymous user data will be retained in Firestore until you request deletion. To do so, contact us at the address in Section 9 with as much information as you can provide (approximate account creation date, device type, etc.).

Waitlist email addresses will be deleted within 60 days after the app-launch notification is sent, unless you have an active account at that time. You may also unsubscribe and request deletion at any time via the link in any email we send.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

ErrandRadar is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

By creating an account or using the ErrandRadar app, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you may use ErrandRadar only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided personal information to ErrandRadar, please contact us immediately at the address in Section 9. We will investigate and take appropriate corrective action.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Regardless of location, you may at any time:

  • Access your data: view all your to-do items and account information in the app.
  • Correct your data: edit your to-do content directly in the app.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 9. We will respond within 30 days. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for example, the ICO in the UK, or your national DPA in the EU).

California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • Right to know: request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.

  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. No opt-out action is required.
  • Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To submit a verifiable consumer request, contact us at the address in Section 9. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days (extendable by an additional 45 days with notice). You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf by providing written authorization.

Categories of personal information collected in the past 12 months:

  • Identifiers: anonymous Firebase user ID, or Google account name and email address (if Google sign-in used); waitlist email (if submitted and backend active).
  • Internet/electronic network activity: device model, OS version, app version, crash data (via Firebase).
  • Geolocation data: coordinates and addresses of to-do pins; approximate location sent to Overpass API for category reminders.

We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction:

  • Firestore security rules restrict access to your data strictly to your authenticated Firebase user ID. No other user can read or write your to-do items.
  • All data in transit between the app and Firebase is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
  • Firebase Authentication manages credential handling. ErrandRadar never stores passwords.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at the address in Section 9.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by email.

Your continued use of ErrandRadar after any change to this policy constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
